Review: 4 Stars for Dare to Submit by Carly Phillips

Decklan Dare knows about the unexpected loss of loved ones and for this reason, he values control in all areas of his life. Amanda Collins enjoys the freedom she finds in casual encounters without the emotional connection a relationship brings. They meet and their physical attraction is mutual but both experience feelings that could run deeper – if they drop their guard and let each other in. Decklan is first to trust, but when he discovers the secret Amanda’s been hiding, will he forgive? Or will he rebuild every wall before she has a chance to explain? (love story, contemporary romance, alpha heroes, beach reads, cop hero, bad boys, billionaire)

I really enjoyed this book. The characters were unique and fun and had a sexy, but serious relationship that sprung up fairly quickly. Decklan was pretty hot as a Dom, but I wish we could've seen more of that side of him. I felt like we spent so much time with Amanda and her relationship with Brad that we missed out a lot on just how sexy Decklan was.

Amanda has a secret that ends up ruining the beautiful budding relationship she was building with Decklan. While I actually thought the way the secret was brought to light was unique and interesting, I think the whole situation afterwards was awkward. Decklan is all over the place and so is Amanda. I think the whole thing got blown up oddly and the characters handled it oddly. I suppose in the end it didn't matter because they found their way through it and I liked the ending.

I wish we could've seen the more D/s side of things since Decklan had all this experience in such things and Amanda had such a great reaction to the one scene they had together.
