Review: Stubborn Love - Great Chick Book!

Even a broken heart has trouble resisting a Stubborn Love.

Emmie Hayes loved the beautiful Ashton Stirling deeply; nobody could deny that. She had given him her youth, and all he gave in return was misery and pain. She was ready for a new beginning, but Ashton wasn’t about to let her go so easily, even if it meant destroying both their lives in the process.

Three years later Emmie convinces herself she is ready to leave all of that heartbreak in the past and find a little piece of normal for herself. She heads to New York City to pick up where she left off, determined to finish art school. Emmie is determined to focus on school and not let anything distract her, but life has a way of throwing curveballs.

Paige, Emmie’s new roommate, brings Colin Bennett into her life. His smoldering eyes and lean muscular body are difficult for any girl to ignore. Only thing is, Emmie isn’t any girl. Her past makes her resistant to his charms. Colin isn’t one to give up easily, and just when he thinks he may have found a way to her stubborn heart, her tragic history may have found a way to tear them apart.

LOVE.. That's the first thing I have to say about this book.. Absolutely LOVED this book. I loved Emmie & Colin. The meet on not the best of terms the first time and we get to see Emmie has a little spark to her even after having a horrible relationship that she was unable to get out of turn horrid and 'ruin her' or she thinks it does.
Colin is going to be in her life no matter what though because his brother is dating her roommate so she has to find a way to get a long with him. Watching Emmie develop in her love for art and her abilities is entertaining as is watching Emmie's and Colin's relationship change and develop. She is stubborn (just like me) so I related very well with her.
It is a chick lit book. It's very light and airy with a bit of drama thrown in.. But I still loved sexy Colin and the underlying story.

Wendy Owens was born in the small college town, Oxford Ohio. After attending Miami University, Wendy went onto a career in the visual arts. For several years she created and sold her own artwork. In 2011 she gave her true love, writing, a try. Her first novel flowed from her in only two weeks time, as though it had been fighting to get out. That moment was when she knew she had found her calling. Wendy now happily spends her days writing the stories her characters guide her to tell, admitting even she doesn’t always know where that might lead. Her first series, The Guardians, will be concluded with the fifth and final book in 2013.
When she’s not writing, this dog lover can be found spending time with her tech geek husband, their three amazing kids, and two pups, lovingly nicknamed stinks and chubbs. She also loves to cook and is a film fanatic.
