I finally gave in and read this book after hearing so much about it. I was pleasantly surprised. It was very well written and dark and sexy all at the same time.
Tess puts up with so much in this book. My heart bleeds for her! Not only is she put through situations that are hard and terror inducing, she is also on a path of self discovery that she finds it hard to accept.
There is a constant element of suspense in waiting to see what Q is going to do with her and what it is about his past and personality that makes him so self loathing.
The only thing that made this not quite a 5 star book for me is that there is elements that I would like to have had be further developed, then again some of them may be expanded upon in the next book in the series so I didn't want to close off the possibility that answers are coming in the next installment.
